Places for Plants!

YIKES! Don't look!! This is an historic photo.

I repeat! historic! It is now filled with plants- palms, flowers, bushes, trees.
So keep reading to see her transformation.



Blue Keys haven just looked too stark to me....too much stone, not enough plants.


This is Florida after all. A place where tropical plants grow in front of your eyes- flowers bloom on a daily basis and basil grows like it was fed coffee!










In the center you can see the steps leading to SunBay Haven. When you walk out however, it was like walking into a void.







I like entrances to feel good- comforting -
ahhh, like you have arrived somewhere.

Good to know where you are going too.





The welcome/directional sign making went into production.
























So in went the welcome sign, palm and flowers at her base.











and the pergola for the orchids' garden got done.





















planters and fruit trees, herb garden,and vegetable patch. We were in full cement production!







The many plants we got all got planted!




It was more fun picking out the plants and marking where they have to go...












As you can see, one lovely guest is already trying it out!


It has been 6 months since these photos. When we planted them, they seemed big......now, looking at them here, they have grown beautifully!


Next will be passion flower vines.

Blue Keys Haven, part one

WELCOME!
This is Blue Keys Haven in Key Largo Florida!

The Patio doors lead you into the great hall- the everything room, dance hall, hammock lounge, exercise room......
Last week--that is---the week of some week in 2007!!!--- it was doubling for a project-art room!

She has been an ongoing art work in progress. And yes, the everything room, also known as the dance hall, continues to be my art-project room.

It continues to be a wonderful room - accepting whatever role we ask of it to do for us. It holds our snorkel gear, kayaks, etc.

We had intended to rent out Blue Keys Haven as a vacation rental---- We have been spending so much time there ourselves, we have been somewhat her permanent renters! However, for repeat vacationers and friends, we will rent her on occasion.

Now, come on in the house proper and check out the living /dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom. These photos show her first incarnation of being fixed up.

She has already going through phase two.......so check out part two of Blue Keys Haven.

Blue Keys Haven, part two

Blue Keys Haven is situated in Paradise with its backyard a canal with fish and manatee and its front yard a view of the bay.
When I am not at Blue Keys Haven, I know one of our repeat vacationers and friends are. Someone is making Blue Keys Haven happy!.....renting out the place, having a great vacation. It is really good!


Check out her recent face lift! The front of the house is REALLY different!
