Tarpon Basin is a smaller cove,
beautiful mangroves and creeks in which to take a flats boat.
You can fit into the more shallow and narrow waterways via a kayak.
It is a short kayak ride out into the wilderness of the North Everglades.
If you head west,
through the river, the water changes colors
and there is more bays to explore.
It is also lots of fun to paddle toward land for some sustenance.
Tarpon Basin is very special in that we are frequented by wild dolphins. I think they come to visit the dolphin swim facility that is on the basin.
